abstract = {Sjálfboðaliðar félagsins fóru til mælinga síðastliðið haust en þó nokkrir komust ekki til að mæla vegna tilmæla sóttvarnaryfirvalda um að ferðast ekki á milli landshluta á haustmánuðum. Alls bárust upplýsingar frá tæplega 40 sporðamælistöðum. Langflestir sporðar hopa og er hörfunin mest á Síðujökli og austanverðum Breiðamerkurjökli eða í kringum 200 m. Hins vegar mælist framgangur á örfáum sporðum í sunnnanverðum Vatnajökli, sem nú er auðvelt að bera saman við hraðasviðsmyndir úr gervitunglagögnum.},

front variations in the autumn of 2019. Glacier retreat was observed at 80% of survey sites whereas advances where reported from 4 sites. The warm summer led to fewer snow-covered glacier margins, and more successful surveys. As in recent years the proglacial lakes make terminus measurements more difficult, although the laser rangefinder works well.},

abstract = {The article presents an overview of the history of the monitoring programme of glacier termini fluctuations in Iceland. The programme was initiated by meteorologist Jón Eyþórsson in 1930, and the measurements were initially carried out by local farmers. In recent decades, the measurements have been conducted by volunteers of the Iceland Glaciological Society with a very diverse professional background. Every autumn, the distance to the glacier terminus has been measured from a reference post, usually marked with a cairn and/or a metal pole. Glacier terminus variations in Iceland since 1930 show a clear relationship with climate changes. The terminus variations data set also contains information about the surges of many glaciers.},

Mæling náðist ekki á nokkrum stöðum vegna snjóskafla við jaðar eða fljótandi jaka á lóni framan við jökulinn sem torveldar mælingu með fjarlægðarkíki. Vesturtunga Þórisjökuls bættist við lista sporðamælistaða þegar farin var vettvangsferð í september 2018 og mælistaður staðsettur.},

abstract = {Observations ofthe advance and retreat ofglaciers in Iceland from 1930 to 1995 are presented in tables and graphs. The records, which have previously been published in yearly re- ports in Jökull, have been computerised, checked and corrected and are available on the Internet. Most ofthe non-surging glaciers retreated strongly during the early half of the monitoring period followed by a readvance or a slowing of the retreat after about 1970. Observations of surge-type glaciers are dominated by the surge events.},
